Who we are

DotBlack Projex Pty (Ltd) ("DotBlack", "we", "us" or "our") is the responsible party for personal information processed through this website and in the course of our business.

Our office is at Office 0005, Jardown 1, 377 Johannes Ramokhoase Street, Pretoria Central, 0002, South Africa.

For a plain-language overview of South Africa's data-protection framework, read our POPIA page.

02

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • identity and contact information, such as your name, organisation, email address and telephone number;
  • the content of enquiries, proposals, correspondence and other information you choose to provide;
  • business and professional information relevant to a requested service, project or recruitment enquiry; and
  • technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as device, browser, network, access and diagnostic information.

Please do not provide sensitive or confidential information through a general website enquiry unless we specifically request it and an appropriate secure channel has been agreed.

03

How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you contact us, submit an enquiry, request a demonstration, communicate with our team or engage us for services. We may also receive limited information automatically through our website infrastructure, or from organisations and service providers involved in an authorised business engagement.

04

Why we use it

We process personal information only where there is a lawful and reasonable purpose, including to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide requested information;
  • assess, propose, contract for and deliver our services;
  • manage client, supplier, partner and candidate relationships;
  • operate, protect, troubleshoot and improve our website and systems;
  • maintain business records and meet legal, regulatory, tax and contractual obligations; and
  • communicate about relevant services where permitted, with an opportunity to opt out.

Our processing is based on the circumstances permitted by the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), including consent where required, actions necessary for a contract, compliance with legal duties and the pursuit of legitimate interests that do not unjustifiably affect your rights.

05

Sharing and transfers

We may share information with authorised employees, professional advisers, technology and hosting providers, delivery partners or other service providers that need it for an identified purpose. We may also disclose information when required by law, a regulator, a court or to protect legal rights and security.

Where personal information is processed outside South Africa, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the transfer is permitted by POPIA and that appropriate safeguards apply. We do not sell personal information.

06

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, an ongoing relationship, legitimate record-keeping needs, or a legal requirement. We then delete, de-identify or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.

We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards designed to protect information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

07

Your rights

Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access to it, ask us to correct or delete inaccurate or unlawfully held information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or opt out of direct marketing.

To make a request, email mufk@dotblack.co.za. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law requires or permits us to do so.
